Monument Demotion/Monument Devotion.

The Valentine Museum’s exhibition in 2019, General Demotion/General Devotion, asks artists to reimagine Monument Avenue and provide space to provoke meaningful conversation about the future of Richmond’s Monument Avenue.

*Noted: In 2020 Confederate monuments were taken down in the wake of Black Lives Matter and the murder of George Floyd.
